Dear Friends,

The Estacada Area Support Our Troops Foundation is very excited to begin work on completing phase one
and move into phase two of building the Estacada Veterans Memorial. We are only a small core group of
people but we do not allow that to deter us.

We are looking for new members that are serious and dedicated to the project and to honoring our Veterans,
members of the military and military families. We are seeking new members that are interested in joining a
fun, patriotic group of team players to fill various duties within our growing organization.  It’s not about one
specific person or even our group, its about teamwork and honoring our precious Veterans and their families.

We have taken a hard hit economically like everyone else but our plans of completing the Memorial are no
less today than when we began, if anything we are more determined now than ever. It’s been a bit
discouraging because all of us want the Memorial built sooner than later! Regardless the challenges, we will
remain just as determined and dedicated as the Veterans whom we are building in the Memorial to honor! If
you would like to join as a member, volunteer your time, if you have needed equipment to loan, have services
or needed supplies to donate, please contact one of the following people. Dennis Dahrens @ 503-630-3404
or John Neider @ 503-630-1946

Following the 2009 Veterans Day Ceremony, we have received much interest from community members
asking how they can join our project and help complete the Estacada Veterans Memorial. We are planning
some hefty work days in the near future to hopefully meet our goal of having the first wall in so that we can
unveil the first set of names on the bricks during our 2nd Annual, Estacada Memorial Day Ceremony.

We have plans for several fund raisers this year to help fund the Veterans Memorial building project and
community events and support. Anyone in a position to make a donation can donate online or contact Dennis
Dahrens, the President of EASOTF or make a direct donation to the Estacada Area Support Our Troops
Foundation at  the Estacada US Bank.

The Estacada Veterans Day celebration was a nice success and is still being talked about in Salem and
around Oregon! In 2009, we were the first city and most likely will continue to be the only city in Oregon with
events from sunup to sundown for Veterans Day. We began working on the 2010 Veterans Day Plans before
the 2009 event took place. It takes a lot of work and many months of planning to put on a professional, formal,
yet fun and meaningful menu of day long events.

In 2010, will we have the traditional Estacada Veterans Day Breakfast, the 2nd Annual Proud to Be an
American Motorcycle Ride, Estacada Veterans Day Parade, The All American Lunch (hot dogs, chili dogs
and apple pie) Veterans Day Ceremony and the 2nd Annual Veterans Day Country Music Fest. It’s all very
rewarding when we see the happiness in the eyes of the Veterans and their families that we strive to honor.

In addition to the Proud to Be an American- Estacada Veterans Day Celebration and Motorcycle Ride, we
have also added annual events/ceremonies to Estacada for Memorial Day, Military Family Appreciation Day,
and a special 9/11 Tribute.

We are also proud to announce our brand new “Troops Support Group” to provide ongoing activities and
support for veterans, members of the military and military families. This is special time for everyone to
reminisce their experiences, and share their concerns, tears and laughter over refreshments and fun, family,
friendly board games, cards and domino's.

On Behalf of the Estacada Area Support Our Troops Foundation, Thank you!
All donations are
greatly appreciated!
No donation is too
small!
